The PID-5 is a freely available instrument, which can be easily used by researchers and clinicians. Different versions of the PID-5 are available; depending on the time resources and clinical needs of the client, assessors can select the more appropriate version of the PID-5. This website provides clinicians with a computerized administration and scoring system for the following versions of the PID-5:

ADULTS
PID-5 – 220-item version (allows to obtain the five dysfunctional personality domain and the 25 dysfunctional personality trait scores listed in AMPD Criterion B)
PID-5-SF – 100-item version (allows to obtain the five dysfunctional personality domains and a profile of the 25 dysfunctional personality traits listed in AMPD Criterion B)
PID-5-BF – 25-item version (allows to obtain the five dysfunctional personality domains listed in AMPD Criterion B)
PID-5-IRF – This is the informant version of the instrument (it was developed to be completed by an adult informant responding about another individual)

The computerized scoring system allows users to obtain:

  • raw scores of PID-5 scales
  • T scores of PID-5 scales
  • percentiles of PID-5 scales

for each of the versions of the PID-5 listed above.

Norms for the 220-item, 100-item, and 25-item versions of the PID-5 were obtained from a sample of 1082 individuals from a US census-matched panel. This is the same panel reported in the original PID-5 development paper (Krueger, et al., 2012). Norms for all PID-5 self-report forms were computed using sampling weights reflecting US census data.

Norms for the informant form were derived from a sample of 360 individuals from the same panel, as described in detail in Markon, et al. (2013).

Details regarding the development of the PID-5 norms are described in the book Understanding the Personality Inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5).

This website provides clinicians with a computerized administration and scoring system for different versions of the PID-5. PID-5 questionnaires could be administered online or offline. The “PID-5 – Computerized report” platform is designed to ensure the anonymity of users and leave the clinician full management and control of sensitive information.
